Braemar Gathering Pipe Band

The Massed Pipe Bands at the Braemar Gathering are an iconic sight, and internationally renowned. Over the years, we have seen bands come from across the globe to take part in this great Scottish spectacle.

Convener: Mr Dave Torrance, Braemar Royal Highland Society, Committee Member

From 9am and throughout the day, individual bands will march from the Invercauld Hotel through the village to the Games Park. There, they will play in the main Arena and also outside the Overseas Visitors Tent. The bands compete for the shield which is presented each year by our Patron.

Last year's winners were Gordonstoun School Pipe Band.

The Massed Bands parade at 12 noon and again at 3pm and 4pm, marching through the village to the games park before noon and returning to the Invercauld Hotel after 4pm. 12 bands are selected annually to take part in this event and entry to the Pipe Band competition is by invitation only.

If you wish your band to be considered please contact the Gathering Secretary.
